Ken je die mensen die altijd zo lang mogelijk in bed blijven en dan net op tijd overal aankomen. Hoi, ja dat ben ik. Maar daar ben ik nu verandering in aan het brengen. Ik probeer geleidelijk een nieuwe ochtendroutine te krijgen en tot nu toe bevalt dat reuze goed. Zo goed zelfs dat ik het iedereen aanraad en ik er zelfs een blogpost aan toewijd.

Since my mom is Mexican, Mexico is more than a summer destination for me. Not only do I want to discover the secrets and diversity of Mexico itself, I also get a chance to see my family again. To see what they’ve been up to and to meet new additions to the family. The sweetest little girl who is already more than a year old made me smile the brightest. She is a very special kid, and seeing here for the first time was amazing. All the photos and videos I had seen of my niece weren’t able to transfer her happy energy that she gives of the second she talks to you. How her little hand fits into yours. When you lift her up and she giggles. Men, she is adorable.
Since I don’t have the inspiration to write about anything, I want to simply share some things. I will refer to posts, and most will be quite old. But still lovely as always <3
Recipes I tried and loved
I found this recipe trough pinterest, and since I have made it so many times. I never knew that lemon tasted so good with broccoli. Also by putting the broccoli in the oven, it gets a super flavor. The ginger I left out, since neither I nor my dad likes it, sorry mom. The toppings are optional, and I leave them out if I don’t have the ingredients at hand. Seriously guys, you HAVE to try this!
They say that life begins outside of your comfort zone. I’m not sure if it’s the full truth but it makes your life way more interesting and adventurous. It helps to grow and to experience new things that you would never have imagined you could.
Honestly, it’s like a boost in your self-esteem as well. Not so long ago I shared some new goals I wanted to work on. Not knowing that I would start so soon in realizing those goals. Last week I went to the blood bank. I get anxious from hospitals and blood. Donating half a liter scares the shit out of me. But okay, everyone told me it would be okay, it’s just the test so you only need to donate a little (4 tubes). So I brought my sister as my (mental)support and before I knew it I was in a room where a lady poked my finger and checked my pulse. Luckily, she just went for it and poked me, before I had the chance to think about it. Good news was that I could get my blood tested, bad news, I had low iron in my blood, so before being able to donate half a liter, I need to get my iron high enough. Next step, enter a room where people are donating blood as if it is just a regular thing to do. Seeing the people with their bag of blood and tubes filled with blood made me feel quite unpleasant.
If you’re planning on eating full plant-based things can get overwhelming quite fast. You find yourself reading loads of ingredient lists and googling for vegan places nearby. Trying to figure out what is vegan and how to adapt your dairy containing recipes to vegan recipes. Yes! It can be fun and exploratory. However, it can be hard as well.
I have become a vegan since the beginning of this year, but about 2 or 3 years ago I developed an interest in veganism. I have found loads of interesting helpful tools that made my slow transition easier and fun. It turned out to be quite long. You can always bookmark the page and read each section separately in order to not get overwhelmed by the information.
